Nepenthes Madagascariensis is a species of pitcher plant native to the eastern coast of Madagascar. Nepenthes Madagascariensis grows naturally in nutrient poor sandy bogs, and flooded areas, using its pitchers (modified leaves) to trap and digest insects for supplemental nutrition. N. Madagascariensis is a large species of Nepenthes that can grow up to 3 feet tall. USDA hardiness zone 10.

Nepenthes Madagascariensis seeds should be sown on the surface of a sterile substrate, sphagnum moss or peat moss work well. Keep the seeds covered either with plastic wrap or a plastic bag to retain humidity and keep between 85°F to 95°F for best results. Once the seeds start to germinate, slowly reduce humidity over time to acclimate them to ambient conditions. Germination typically takes 1 to 5 months to germinate, but can take up to 10 months. Even with optimal conditions, germination may be slow and sporadic.
