Aloe branddraaiensis is a low growing stemless succulent plant native to South Africa. Its native range is quite small, about 500 square miles (800km), but it is quite densely populated within that range. Plants grow 11 inches (30cm) in height excluding the winter flowering heavily branched red to orange flower spikes. Aloe branddraaiensis exhibits highly patterned leaves that are greyish brown in full sun, and green in shadier locations. The leaves are much shorter in sunny locations, and are much longer in shadier locations. Plants often produce suckers or offshoots forming clumps of plants. Plants prefer well draining soils and adapt well to growing in containers. Water the plants thoroughly, allowing the soil to dry out completely in between waterings during the growing season. Withhold water during the cold winter months as this plant is prone to rot in wet cold soils. USDA hardiness zone 10-11.

Aloe branddraaiensis seeds germinate best in warm moist, but not soaking wet potting medium. Plant the seeds about 1/8th inch (3mm) deep in a well draining moist, but not soaking wet potting medium. Keep warm, between 70F and 80F (21C and 27C). Germination typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to occur. Even with optimal conditions, germination may be slow and sporadic.
