Utricularia dichotoma is a terrestrial bladderwort, a carnivorous plant,  more commonly called fairy aprons. U. dichotoma has fan-shaped purple flowers. The species is native to Australia, New Caledonia, and New Zealand. U. dichotoma has amongst the fastest moving of all carnivorous plant traps. They prefer to grow in soil that stays constantly moist. Utricularia dichotoma are hardy to zone 11.

Plant the seeds directly on the surface of a good potting soil and keep humid. Keep the soil constantly wet. Keep between 70°F to 80°F for best results. Germination typically takes 1 to 5 weeks to occur. Even with optimal germination conditions, germination may be slow and sporadic.
