Cylindropuntia imbricata, commonly called the tree cholla or the cane cholla, is a species of cacti native to northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. Cylindropuntia imbricata is a rather cold hardy caci being hardy to zone 5A. Cylindropuntia imbricata are most commonly grown as an ornamental plant. 

Plant the Cylindropuntia imbricata seeds on the surface of a well draining potting soil. Sprinkle a thin layer of soil over the seeds, just enough to cover them. Keep the seeds moist, but not soaking wet and keep between 70°F to 80°F for best results. Seeds typically take 5 to 180 days to germinate, even with optimal conditions, seeds may have slow and sporadic germination.
